I believe the AZ constitution has a mandate that higher education should be “as nearly free as possible.” This would indeed suggest that living on campus be completely optional

I don’t think the dropout rate is as high as you think. (Anyone have numbers?)
I do hear a lot of people echoing a comment sentiment that “Excellence” and “Access” are opposing ideals. How can we compete with both Harvard and community colleges?
Allow access via stairs to all floors of all buildings

For example: To view refunds ASU has made, the steps are many and not obvious. Why should I have to click a button labeled QuickPay just to see how much I should expect to transfer into my bank account shortly?

Update: ASU is instructing police to impound & fine bikes locked to the MU’s ramps instead of building more bike racks. http://www.asuwebdevil.com/node/3027

Apparently this creates an issue for disabled students (is this true?), which is obviously not cool – but the solution isn’t fines, it’s a darn bike rack
